After a decade of releasing folk/pop music and touring North America, Darrelle London dove into the world of children's music with her lullaby EP, Sing to the Moon, in 2018. She fell in love with the audience of families who embraced her songs, as well as the community of children's musicians from around the world that she has met along the way.

Darrelle began writing Primary during the covid lockdown of 2020. Questions  during "mommy school" from her children about primary colours,  bugs, and the former planet, Pluto, inspired Darrelle to respond in the form of songs. Darrelle loves getting glimpses into the minds of her young children and she felt compelled to try and capture the curiosity and wonder of childhood in the songs on Primary. It's been such an adventure, and she can't thank her family enough for coming along for the ride, shakers in hand!
